WHO YOU ARE
Join our dynamic finance team as a Senior Finance Associate! In this hands-on role, you will play a key part in supporting financial analysis, reporting, payroll, and month-end close processes. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, curious, and analytical, with experience in start-up or scale-up environments. You are driven by a passion for process improvements and committed to supporting the company’s continued growth.

WHAT YOU'LL BE WORKING ON

Month-End Close and Reporting
• Perform and review monthly reconciliations.
• Conduct variance analysis vs. plan and actuals, understanding cost drivers and supporting business strategy.
• Adapt to changing monthly reporting requirements and processes, adjusting as needed to ensure alignment with business needs.
• Work towards reducing month-end close timelines.

Invoice and Expense Approvals
• Review and authorise payments and reimbursements in Payhawk.
• Manage cash flow effectively.
• Regularly review costs, ensuring accurate allocation and understanding any unusual variances.

Process Optimisation & Supporting Scaling
• Take responsibility for process documentation and consistent review.
• Continuously evaluate existing processes and identify opportunities for efficiency improvements, driving best practices within the team.
• Support automation and the implementation of scalable financial systems.
• Collaborate cross-functionally to align finance operations with company growth.

Audit, Compliance & Payroll
• Support the preparation of the annual audit.
• Ensure appropriate VAT treatment, including reviewing VAT returns and ensuring compliance with applicable regulations.
• Identify and implement best practices for internal controls across the company.
• Diligently review payroll, understand variances, and drive efficiency when collaborating with the people team.



REQUIREMENTS
• Education & Qualification: ACA, ACCA, or CIMA qualified.
• Prior experience in a start-up or high-growth environment is essential.
• Excellent proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Google Sheets.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to ensuring accuracy and precision in all financial analyses.
• Ability to dive into complex issues and take an active role in solving them with a practical, solution-oriented approach.
• Adaptable; comfort in working in a dynamic, fast-paced environment with changing priorities.
• A proactive mindset, continuously seeking ways to improve processes and challenge existing practices to drive efficiency and innovation.
• Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
• Impeccable ability to stay organised and manage multiple workstreams effectively.
• Based in the UK or the Netherlands.
